Warning, this review contain spoilers, but not as much as the series does to spoil itself. Okay... I want to like it, and I try to overlook a lot... but it’s getting harder with each episode. So, here are some reasons why — Aside from their inexplicably undisciplined behavior toward each other... there are so many kinks that don’t need to be there... here are just a few. A future where we have developed faster-than-light travel and super smart AI, but Astronauts still have to twist giant monkey wrenches with only muscles and human torque to work on anything. The Michelle character appears to be wearing heels 👠 around the ship. Two astronauts inexplicably open their helmet visors on a Mysterious planet because they find a 19% oxygen reading, but give no concern to Astro-bio contamination they might be inhaling (don’t get me started about the gravity problems on the planet). However, contamination does in fact get brought on the ship – only not by them. Niko has to kill Ian in self defense, but doesn’t explain this factor to his grieving crew who acts as though she killed him because of “concerns” about him, and not because he pulled a knife on her forcing her to kick him away (and into the energy beam) while defending herself... furthermore, this sophisticated ship is not equipped with cameras to give evidence to the encounter, and the “all seeing,” pops in out of nowhere all the time AI entity is again, conspicuously absent from the encounter—and ridiculously seems to have no way of reconciling whether his human master is a murderer or not. Later, Michelle tries to kill Niko when Niko is blind, only Niko doesn’t call for William ( the AI) to summon help to aid her —until after she has fought Michelle (and for more than just a little while), knocking her unconscious. They have an entire back up crew in sleep chambers, yet mysteriously only wake them up one at a time to assist them. Why wouldn’t they summon them all awake after the first sign of trouble. If there is a protocol or reason to explain this, they don’t. So.... I’m still only up to episode 4... should I watch on?? I’ll probably hate myself for this...
