Bing “BingIt” It

What an incredibly underrated film. Most of the criticisms are so sideways and irrelevant to the film or its performers. Does it seem like they romanticized Ted Bundy? Of course; but that's because it's from the perspective of the woman who fell in love with him, protected the idea of him, and lied to herself for so long about the monster he was. It was her vision of him. And Efron's performance was downright legendary. He's never really been an actor I was keen on, but he nailed the combination of charisma, self-denial, narcissism, and slightly creepy brilliance that was Ted Bundy.

Just because a movie sets out to be nothing more than a political platform of man-hating (as most of Hollywood is now), doesn't mean it's an achievement of any kind. In fact, it's insulting to women to be forced into nothing but hand-me-downs with "strong and independent" constantly forced down everyone's throat. It doesn't make a woman strong to act like her own man. That just makes her a man wannabe.

Bad storytelling, clichés for days, and some eye-rolling moments of dialog and action. Doing the source material justice isn't enough to qualify as a good movie. This movie is about a 5.5/10 at its best moments.
