This is not a DC movie or part of the DCEU. This is the only movie in which you would probably see the iconic character in a way no one has ever seen before. Todd Philips realistic take on the supervillain is dark, disturbing, unpredictable yet beautiful. This is one of the rare instances where you see the movie become the character itself. Despite the heinous crimes he commits, you feel his pain and end up rooting for him. Rather than a comic book movie, this is about a man's descend into madness. Please do watch is you are a true movie lover and also if you are not looking to compare this performance with Heath Ledger's.

The two reasons to watch this movie is Tom Hardy and the for first live action version of the titular character Venom ( if you don't consider Spiderman 3). The movie isn't as bad as the critics say. Tom Hardy's portrayal as Eddie Brock, as he battled his inner demons and the parasite that grew inside was pretty cool and the humor was decent. True there are alot of plot holes, lack of character development and a CGI that could have been considerably better. Nevertheless the movie was fun and seriously, if you are a comic-book fan, you will not get bored at all. 6/10 for the movie, 9/10 for Tom Hardy's Venom. Hoping that his version gets into the MCU.
