Abhorrent movie, do not watch it
I don't understand all these 5 star reviews none of them are talking about how Cal/Ross feeds Becky her own baby then lies and says "it's only grass, cows do it all the time" after the weird writhing dead bodies underneath the "special all knowing rock" along with the grass people There is truly no point to that scene it's not special, it's not psychological, cool, or artsy, it's unnecessary and over the top disturbing for like I said absolutely no reason.
Then they also never bring up the rape scene that again is super unnecessary.
Then the most factually incorrect scene in this movie, when Ross pops Natalie's head like a egg, The skull is basically the same as a watermelon. Only a hippo could do that, not even the strongest body builder can do that, none the less some random dad named Ross- that got lost in some grass and touched a rock. One of many of the disturbing and unnecessary scenes in this movie.
Also why is the brother (Cal) so creepy, I get loving your sibling but that's a bit far there dude.
And the 5 star reviews just say that the people rating it correctly (1 star) "Just don't get it", but trust me I do get it, I get that there's no point other than trying to be a good movie but failing, trying to be a cool, artsy, psychological thriller, but really it just is pro-life propaganda, along with claiming to be psychoanalyzing today's world and how we turn to violence and so on and so on, but really it's just a bad movie trying to be something special which it really isn't.
Like I said don't even consider listening to the 5 star reviews they obviously are on something maybe the same thing Steven King, Joe Hill, the writers and directors are on because Wow this movie, If you do choose to watch this movie just know there are huge plot holes and many unnecessary scenes, basically a massive waste of time. And my entire family agrees, I / We do not recommend this movie. I truly don't understand all the love it gets.
Honestly if your gonna watch a Stephen King movie go watch Carrie, It, Misery, or The Shining, he definitely has way better movies.
