This is very likely to be THE WORST sequel to a game ever made. Spoilers below Honestly dont buy part 2. You loved the bond between Joel and Ellie in part 1? Guess what? Joel is mutilated right in front of Ellie in the prologue of the game. Why? Because turns out the doctor Joel killed in the end of part 1 was the antagonists dad (yes, theres a main antagonist in part, but oh boy, the best part is you get to PLAY AS HER after she murders Joel) so let me ask, why was Joel given the most painful death? When he gave Abby(the antagonist)’s dad a quick death? This isnt the end of the tragic storytelling though. Remember Tommy? Yeah, you see the fella for around 10 minutes of cutscene time, only to have him get shot, guess where, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ELLIE when engaging Abby face to face. Jesse, the guy who’s had your back since the beginning of the game, IMMEDIATELY GETS SHOT in the face after running through a set of doors near the end. And guess what? All the killing Ellie had done to get revenge for Joel’s and everyone else’s death was for nothing, because she doesnt even kill the main antagonist at the end! Absolutely no character development, apart from ofcourse, THE ANTAGONIST which for some reason you play as for what seems like forever in game. This supposed sequel doesnt even feel like a sequel, more like a bad dream Ellie’s having. The infected only seem to be somewhat of a hinderance now, rather than an actual threat you need to avoid in order to survive. Terrible sequel. Shocking story writing. Dont bother with purchasing this, honestly, it’ll leave you wanting a refund.
