Although this drama is high on cuteness, teenage romance, comedy, and handsomeness, it is low—extremely low— on morals as it fails to show the actual social support to someone who is bullied.
Family support is low— the baby brother who never tells mom that his sister is gravely bullied at school; the tenacious older sister who does not care about her siblings; the mother who ridiculously took her daughter to a plastic surgeon after learning her daughter was bullied; and the useless father.
Friends' support is poor, very poor— the other BFF didn't even text the main character when she was down and out. She had to selfishly think about herself first. No friend messaged the depressed main character. Is South Korea a place where only superficial friendships exist? I mean I get that the main character needs to be beaten up to make things more dramatic but it just feels off that the story showed that the society they are in condones bullying. The setting isn't even fictional!
Makeup shown the wrong way— makeup is portrayed wrong here. It's really negatively portrayed here.
Self-worth and self-love is wrong— one doesn't need a (gorgeous) man to validate your worth.
To the show writer, not everyone will be caged in bystander effect.
