I'm a Trek fan since the very first pilot of the original series. Since that day in the mid 1960's, technology, CGI and other special effects have advanced significantly, so we no longer have to show Captain Kirk throwing an obvious piece of Styrofoam "rock" at an enemy firing a sparker hidden in a makeshift "Raygun" at him. The characters remain true to Roddeberry's dream and bring you into their world as they encourage loyalty to their cause. At the end of season 1, I actually teared up when they came upon the ship bearing NCC 1701! It was like everything I'd watched since 1967 had come full circle in a wonderful time warp. Just enjoy the show!
