This movie raises the very real issue of big capital having inordinate influence in the environmental movement. We need grassroots environmental movements, not movements run like the Sierra Club and other groups which are more concerned with their financial donations than they are about the environment. Grassroots groups like Extinction Rebellion are more likely to lead to actual progressive change than the Sierra Club. Capitalism isn't environmentally friendly, nor is the conspicuous consumption it foments. The issues this movie touches are vast and it is a start of a discussion that is badly needed. It may seem depressing at a certain point, but knowing the real situation is vital if the situation is to improve.
