Disturbing , dark and violent. If you wouldn't bring your child to a slasher flick, skip this movie. It should be rated R. I am not a prude. I understand some folk tales are scary but this movie is over the top and should not be a movie shown to young children. It left me feeling nauseous even with the fake “spirit of Christmas” ending. I won’t reveal the plot but it will definitely haunt children with images of gore and horror. Adults still tempted to watch it should at least screen it first. You have been warned. Amazon would not let me leave a negative review. (Censorship or corporate greed?) If the content wasn’t offensive enough, the characters were extremely negative stereotypes.. the trailer trash cousins, alcoholic grandma, the gun toting idiot uncle (Republican bigot of course) and the urban upper class hero Dad. This movie is Hollywood trash. Rent a movie with a positive holiday message instead. No need to traumatize young ones at Christmas.
