I honestly do not know what the critics are thinking when they say this film was just as a mess as Whedon's cut. Whedon's cut was basically trying to make the DCEU into the MCU, with forced humor, poor story-telling, and making every other character weak as hell and then Superman comes in to save the day. With Snyder's cut, yes it's long for a movie but this film was well-paced and structured for good story telling, and the action was phenomenal. Every character had their role in the film and is depicted nicely of who they were comically. Humor was not forced and fits into the story.
Seriously, don't read critic's reviews and wait for actual viewer's reviews, as the critics are probably paid to slap you in the face with film politics and discouraging you from watching a good film.
