Excruciating and painful, This is poorly acted and drawn out beyond breaking point. So bad it makes me angry. Yet it’s had loads of good reviews. I guess it’s just not my thing.

Absolute rubbish. Desecrates the fabulous book and even the quite good first movie. Gets an extra star because the John Carpenter’s score but this was otherwise seemingly made by people who hate Stephen King.

Relentlessly morose and with a plot that is driven by supposedly smart characters constantly doing dumb things, this can be frustrating viewing. It’s beautifully shot and well acted but it is grindingly cliched at times. It’s hard to sympathise with most of the characters with the most interesting one being killed off to increase the gloom.

The denouement is so bad it’s made me angry. Won’t say too much about why as I wouldn’t want to spoil it but this is rubbish of the lowest order. Total waste of time.
