I quite enjoyed it as it fleshed out the worlds of Gilead and Mayday in Canada. I also enjoyed learning more about Aunt Lydia. I am surprised it won the Booker Prize. It isn’t what I’d call literary — very plot driven, and much of that seemed convenient and contrived to get us to the point we knew we’d get to anyway. It felt rushed towards the end. So all in all, a little disappointing. Glad I read it though.
