Probably the best reboot/spin-off done in streaming if not ever. It stood well as it’s own show instead of being captive to what has come before. The references to past shows didn’t overly break the 4th wall like in nearly every other spin off and fit nicely into the dialogue. The plot was entertaining all on its own. Some of the characters could have used a little more development but it’s hard to do in an 8 episode first season. The big unveil is also a bit predictable. Well done. Hope there is another season.

Two episodes are out. I watched both just to be able to be fair. The first episode was trash. Hillary Duff couldn’t have been more annoying. They tried too hard to introduce too many people at once and the only slight chuckle I had was a cheap “he fell” gag. Episode two was a slight improvement. British Barney seems like he may have potential. Jesse seems like he could be able to have the relatability of Ted. Lizzie McGuire takes Ted’s clingy-neediness- if Ted thought hallmark movies were real life. Episode One: 1 star. Episode Two: 2 stars 1.5 stars rounded to 2 stars. The series may be ok. But I’ll probably wait for the entire series to drop and knock it out in an afternoon. Very small chance I’d be interested in sitting through another season.
