I am a long-time 60 Minutes fan and a big fan of Anderson Cooper but saying that Canadians would like 'to forget' about the treatment of our indigenous people could not be further from the truth. Ignorance is never much of a defence but most Canadians had no idea how bad things were in those schools, and now that we do know, we will do everything we need to do to help deal with those wounds. Of course, the U.S. government's wholesale slaughter of the bison in the 1850's -- to get rid of the tribes altogether -- didn't warrant a mention. Perhaps that's another program?
