This is my favorite final fantasy. That said the "remastered" version is really only nice for the convenience of not breaking out a PS1. It is the same game with the exceptions that the added a x3 speed button, an option to turn off battles, and an option to cheat via full health and limit breaks. They did touch up the character's in game graphics but the background and cut scenes are the same. Which is fine because the original game was beautiful for it's time. But I don't know why Enix keeps trying to change Squall's design. They have darkened his hair and changed the hair style to match dysidia...I hate it and it's really distacting because it's not how he looks in cut scenes or in the menu. He also has brown hair in the overworld. It feels like they are trying to make him softer. They also opted to change some of the triple triad card art. Swapping things like a card with Diablo's face for a full body that honestly looks worse than the original card. This game feels less remastered and more like the same game with changes of style over much notable changes in visual quality. I wish they would quit trying to tweak the design of squall. Everyone else in the game is virtually the same.

It was recommended to me for perspective on my journey. But I guess I'm not the target audience. It was kinda cringy to read a woman's story of her struggle while to some it seemed like barely a struggle at all. Yes she was married to man, cheated, and divorced. But she never went through financial woes because she is grossly successful before he affair. She didn't struggle to get into the community or fit in as she jumped quickly into an affair. She never dealt with insane fundamentalism or growing up with the 700 hundred club telling you that you're an abomination that causes the world to be an awful place. This is a coming out story for wealthy white women who's only worry is saving face.
