Victory City is a brilliant work by brilliantly talented Salman Rushdie ! It's about a woman named Pampa Kampana gifted with magical wonderful power by the Goddess Parvati ! She gets her life more suffering due to her father having died young forcing his wife as well to die along with many other widows of her village in the ritual fire. Then she founds Vijayanagar and makes it an amazing empire of South India to end finally into nothing as usual with all the kingdoms and empires of our beloved world. Salman is at his best here.

It's a novel about migration and its ins and outs. The way Salman tells the story is unique and genius linguistically. It may seem a bit difficult to understand but if you know even a bit of INDIA the book goes easy to understand. The language aspect is quite impressive and funny and you feel never bored.

I have just read the novel with a huge expectation from my most favorite author. with all my wishes for sir Rushdie to win Nobel prize 2018 or 2019 I found him light tired exhausted in quichotte.the book seems to be written in a hurry and with light approach.the writer looks didactic unlike his claims never to be so.i have a suggestion for the Bombay boy to take another 5 year and produce his still due masterpiece.
