This album couldn't have come at a better time and I mean it. Clairo's sling is neo-indie/folk at its finest, like Taylor Swift's folklore and evermore (interestingly jack antonoff also worked on taylor's folk albums), it makes you feel that it is the perfect album for your winter, autumn and spring.
First listen and I'm hooked, personally this is the soundtrack of my now final year of high school, the sound just perfectly encapsulates the feeling of the snow melting by the riverbanks for the flowers to blossom as spring approaches. Clairo's songwriting also shines through with the songs and the meaning isn't lost within its depths.
At times existential the songs are still hopeful, Bambi just sets the tone for the album for the existentialism and the theme of relationships that you will hear for the 40 minutes and to reel you back in from Bambi, Amoeba offers a brighter sound reminscent of Clairo's bedroom pop sound.
This is the first review I've ever written for an album so hopefully ms. Claire Cottrill is proud of what she has made. If you intend to listen to this album I recommend doing this with a hot chocolate in hand just to set the tone of the album :). All the best to Clairo.
