I believe the main aim of the director was to let the viewers' imagination run wild and I think they succeeded at it. The movie is not about what happened but to imagine why it happened. The fact that the entity does not kill the elder brother, which it could easily do, makes u think. Maybe there lies a message. It's UpTo u to imagine.. let it run wild
