Lisa's depiction of the characters and events of the Begotten series creates PHENOMENALLY REALISTIC, page-turning drama. There's no need to have any church leanings to enjoy her meticulous description of various cathedrals. They are accurate and intriguing. (I've been to Italy, so I've seen some similar cathedrals.) The twists and turns she adds to the story keep you engaged and hungry for more. She keenly addresses both the character flaws and best traits of each member of her cast, whether they serve as lofty ecumenical leaders or "lowly servants." Lisa tackles the topic of spiritual warfare with boldness and clarity, reminding us that we are truly in a serious battle, even in the midst of lulls. I found her writing Scripturally accurate, yet never preachy or boring. Lisa Tawn Bergren is now my new favorite author, and I'm hoping she'll undertake another similar project.
