Genuinely speaking, it is a pretty good show with powerful themes. I understand it is receiving a lot of backlash from some of the more traditional critics of the Indian culture but truly it is great. But maybe that is just coming from the perspective of me being used to modern American tv and the explicit nature of it. So I’m a bit more desensitized to some of the things that may upset your more traditional or culturally related viewer. Very deep show though. The dynamics between male and female are very realistic especially when looking at the professional and personal world. Patriarchy, Feminism, Infidelity and Relationship Dynamics, Substance Use, Sexual Freedom/Sexuality, Identity, Culture of silence surrounding Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment, Power Systems etc. were the recurring main themes. Truthfully some really good stuff. It is a realistic looks at various every day themes and struggles. I love that the show was centered around women. If you are willing to be open and realistic about real world issues, I would definitely say to give this show a watch. Personally, I would love to see another season of it.
