Unexpectedly magical. Why can't more shows be like this?

I haven't finished the season (only starting episode 5) so this could change, bu so far the show is outstanding. I loved the original but I try to take any adaptations on its own merits and this one really stands well on its own. It's funny, the music is great, and the characters and acting are on point. If you're looking for more of the original series I would suggest just rewatching the original series. But if you're looking for an entertaining show this is the one to watch.
