Outstanding film, the low reviews I'm seeing are ridiculous. This is an extremely well written film which brings the audience into a very dark and unforgiving world of sinister mayhem. A man trying to live out his best days with his family has his world completely decimated with a home break in that leaves his wife raped and murdered and his daughter killed as well. As the perpetrators are sent to prison, the accomplice receives the death sentence and the main antagonist gets ten years. Upon that murderers release, we see what ten years of tactical planning and anger festering in the victim can do and where the real story starts to unfold. The only real disappointment in this film is that from a realism standpoint, Jamie Foxx's character would never have survived. But it's a movie. It's there to entertain us, not necessarily involve any true elements of realism. I personally enjoyed the hell out of it as did everyone I know that saw it at some point.

Can't have a movie where cities on wheels go out destroying each other for scrap and "old tech" without any background or lore as to why it's even happening in the first place or what the point of it all is. Especially if takes place in the future. Traction, anti-traction groups the audience will inevitably get lost here. The effects are cool but without an actual story of any kind explaining what it is you're even seeing this seriously missed the mark. An hour in I was checking my watch to see what was still going to be open to go eat afterward. Long story short, extremely boring when stuff wasn't blowing up. I think I'll stick to the marvel movies.
