Hi Tamron, your show "family & Fancy" did not address the underlying issue inthe relationship. Even the commentator did not analyzed the issue. I am a retired pediatrician. Motherhood is very complex which most of the people do not realize. There is a phenomena called "imprinting". this is well studied in animals. But does happens in Humans as well. In this after the birth of the baby mothers mind gets imprinted by the image of the baby. in animals this happens when mother licks the baby after birth. But it is not clear when this happens in humans. so when a mother thinks of the his baby who may be 50 years old, but for the mother is the same baby at birth. Therefore the relation with spouse of their children have a different relation with the mother and not with others. This adds to the complexity in relationship with mothers and particularly if they are alone. This may get diluted if that mother has several children. personally my mother will treat my like a child even when I became a physician and I use to resent this. But when I came to know about this phenomena I stopped resenting that and accepted as her mind works with the old image thinking me as the baby. Thank you
