I trudged through most of this book. Not much happens. I liked when it gave us more background to the original series like the origins of the songs Katniss sang and the way Snow thinks but it wasn’t enough. Nothing on how Tigris became what she was in the original trilogy (surgically altered to look like a cat) or how her relationship with Snow went from practically his only family, someone whom she cares for dearly, to wishing him dead. Nothing. Not even about how Snow gets involved in politics, poisoning his competition. For such a small glimpse into his life, it’s quite a long book. The original trilogy feels like it was written by a different author. It had much more dialogue, action, and plot. This book felt repetitive and dull. I waited till the end of the book for something to happen. What happened to the real Suzanne Collins?
