I love the movie, but only the movie aspects of it. I don't understand why every good thing needs to be ruined with a musical. Not all cartoons, shows, movies, books, etc need to be turned into a musical. ESPECIALLY not when they can't get singers who sound anything like the voice actors. It just turned an otherwise perfect movie into a movie with regular intervals of musical disaster.

Justin Simien claims that the final season of the show being a musical was the "perfect metaphor" for how Black people exist in white space. Season four of Dear White People is a "perfect" example of when a "metaphor" should be left in your nightmares, not be used as a weapon of torture for an otherwise brilliant show which raised excellent racial issues. Please reconsider your choices and career, Justin. Congratulations on ruining a series that required very little effort or promotion in today's climate.
