Troy, directed by Wolfgang Petersen is a delightful watch, especially for those who love history. Loosely based on the epic war from Homer's Iliad, it depicts a political turning point for the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean and the nearby regions of Anatolia 4000 years ago. The heroism of Hector (Eric Bana) and Achilles (Brad Pitt) is legendary and their emotionally charged clash as well as the fiery aftermath is skilfully shown in the movie. Arrogant and invincible, Achilles is the key to winning this victory, but the walled city could perhaps be won only through a ploy.
The film has both strong and weak characters with their defining moments. It's a tale that stays with you and definitely worth a second watch.
