I'm not really impressed with the lack of reusing kitchen cabinets, counter tops, etc.
I came from nothing and when I bought my first home I salvaged mostly everything from the local salvation store.
The kitchens they're demolishing are obviously not up to par in the 21st century, however, it can work really well with a family without all the wealth.
