Frances Macdormand stars a Fran ,an aging woman who ends up living in a van after the town or city she spent her married life in ceases to exist when the local industry goes bankrupt and her husband passed away. She is a proud, hardworking woman who will take any laborious job like seasonal Amazon worker, and considers herself "houseless, not homeless". I didn't read the book the movie was based on and it does drag on at times, but casting real-life 'houseless' nomads makes for a fascinating movie. It is more than a little depressing though, in that she and some others are their own worst enemy when offered a place to stay she almost always declines or soon goes back on the road again. Macdormand, most famous as the pregnant policewoman in the movie "Fargo" once again does an incredible job.
