ABC does an excellent job synthesizing romantic drama by isolating their cast from the outside world and getting the contestants to focus on an idol, the Bachelor. This results in a competitive dating experience, unrivaled and unmatched anywhere else on TV. Contestants are pushed to their absolute edges and have their personalities exploited by producers in a thoroughly pleasurable manner.
ABC's The Bachelor is a study of the heart and what it wants. Expertly set in luxury, the show also evokes the material wants and feels of its audience with such dates as yacht rides, private SCUBA lessons, and private concerts put on by famous musicians. The Bachelor strives to exhibit just how opulent love can be!
All in all, the show is a solid 10/10. Mike Fleiss, the show's creator, deserves a Grammy for his expert exhibition of the human psyche. This is probably as good as reality TV gets, and we should all count our blessings to be alive during the Golden Age of Television.
