I thought this adaption of great expectations was simply diabolical. I liked nothing of it, except perhaps Olivia Colman, as Miss Haversham, Charles Dickens would be turning in his grave to see S&M scenes, drugtaking and hearing foul language. I think almost everyone was miscast. Charles Dickens always had a thread of humour running through his stories, there was absolutely no humour whatsoever in this adaptation, it was unrelentingly gloomy.

Found this very disappointing. Maybe it’s the wrong thing to say, but I felt a female hulk just didn’t work for me. Episodes were slow and boring

Fantastic fun totally enjoyed this. Watched the whole series in 2 days
