The director should have never made it sound like it was based off a true story. It would have made it so much better if I went into watching this movie thinking it was total fiction. Because that’s what it is. All in all…it was ok…there were some scary moments, decent acting, and a story that made me watch until the end.

There were moments that had my attention, made me laugh, and they tried to have twists from the original that I appreciated. However, there were also a lot of cliches, farfetched scenarios, and overacting. I wish they would have casted a more mature leading lady, maybe a 30-35 year old. All in all, I could see through the special effects and glamour to see a sloppy written adaptation.

I loved the original film, and was so excited to watch the next installment. Unfortunately, ego got in the way and they relied on flashy distractions rather than inventive writing or storytelling to make it successful. I was beyond disappointed; there is so much talent that went to waste.
