I really liked the show. It explores the chief and the world of halo that we do not experience in the games.
The idea of chief discovering his humanity and compassion after it being stripped away from him to turn him into an emotionless killing machine is really interesting to me.
It's nice to see the other aspects of the halo universe only explored in the books like the insurectionist factions and rebels and tyrants.
The political constraints and complexities of the unsc is all very similar to what is explored in the books.
I really really really like the design of the elites armor.
That being said I only have two gripes
The Spartans armors still look like cumbersome cosplay to me instead of functional mjolnir. They look difficult to move in and when using a rifle it breaks the illusion for me that they are what they are portrayed to be.
The Spartans are pretty over powered when they should have weaker shields than the covenant. They absolutely mow down any opposition and have no real danger of harm.
I would like if the Spartans use a combination of tactics and equipment utilizing cover and concealment, flash bangs, shield trainers, flares, smoke grenades etc to get the job done. Let their spartan training shine rather than jumping around and brawling.
