Although this has a stellar cast, the writing is sophomoric at best. The dialogue feels as though it was written by 13 year olds. Either that, or the actors are given a situation or one line, then told to just build on it. There is a lot of time-wasting banter back and forth, โoh yeah, really?โ โReallyโ
โAre you sure, really?โ โAnd then what do you want to do?โ โI donโt know.โ โReally? โAre you sure you donโt know what you want to do?โ โYes, really.โ
This is an exaggeration, but only a mild one and some of it is taken right from one scene in a restaurant. Dialogue is drawn out into excruciatingly mind-numbing lengths, about one particular thought, which isnโt even anything a person would say or think and not the way a person would say it. Really? Yes, Really.
The bad writing, with the constant jumping around in different time frames between the past and present with no explanation, just makes for a really difficult watch.
This thing is so, so bad. I only gave it two stars because of the good castโฆ none of whom play even one likeable character among them, unfortunately.
Actually if I could give it zero stars, that would be generous.
