The North water is one of the best-crafted books I’ve ever read, without a single wasted word. The characters are perfectly defined and very real, and the story is gripping and suspenseful all the way through. I so thoroughly enjoyed it I read it twice, something I occasionally do with novels I think deserve to be called “great.”
