This movie is, for the first 2/3 of it's runtime, a storyline that's been done many times-the spooky tale of a possessed child doll. But wait, the doll isn't possessed at all.
Embarrassed by his scars and desire to keep him free from prison the boys parents fake his death 20 prior and hide him away in the house where he stayed and grew into a man.
A boy doll, created as a replica of their son presents as a way for his parents to cope with their loss. I'm guessing the loss of a perfect son who doesn't kill, because their son never actually died.
Although I can guess why the boys parents left, there is no explanation for why they commit suicide. Another guess would be they couldn't bare to live with their son or the guilt of abandoning him.
In all this was a good movie with a nice twist on an old storyline.
