Too many scenes where it is so dark on screen to see what is happening. It is absolutely annoying. I understand the desire for a realistic depiction of the South during such times, but the "n" word is used here more than a Tarantino movie. We get the idea, the people who owned slaves are among the worst of people. And the progression of the story was so very slow. Five minutes trudging around did enable me to do some things around the house, which I appreciate, but I am looking to be on the edge of my seat, not looking for something else to do.
What a shame. This was an amazing book that deserved an amazing series. No fault of the actors, they ladies and gentlemen did a great job here, but the screenplay and directing was too much to overcome.
