I read some of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books. The one thing that is a main idea in each book is that Reacher is massive; not just tall, but broad with huge hands. I can't understand why an actor wasn't selected that fit that description because it's used as a shock factor throughout the books. Swartznager or the Rock or someone of that stature would have made the movies follow the book better. Tom Cruise is a good actor but if "bad" guys were confronted by huge guy, it would make a difference in the scene. Much was made about size of opponents, ie.e., I can take this guy, etc. etc. Sounds like alot of viewers expected more from the movies.
