It’s an obvious cult classic, it’s the reason why the Object Show Community exists. BFDI is not a bland animated web series, but I would not recommend it.
It’s first season is nakedly trash, with poor writing and voice acting, plain backgrounds, cheap animations, and the use of Kevin Macleod’s music all caught on camera. It’s not all bad however. I praise the way the competition works and the slapstick comedy.
It’s second season (BFDIA) had some improvements. The animation didn’t look as cheap as it was in the first season.
It’s third season (IDFB) is ridiculous. Why does it have only one episode? We don’t see this in shows like Parks and Recreation or Marvel Studios’ What If.
It’s fourth season (BFB) had better humor, and better overall animation, but at the same time, why does Loser have a voice of an elderly man, and get praised so much? I guess I would not know, at least for now,
Now, here’s the reason I would not recommend it, especially to the general public. Depictions. I dislike Woody being depicted as a person with intellectual disability, phobia and dysarthria, as well as every female character in the first season being depicted as having hoarse voices. The worst part of the whole show though is when Blocky insults or assaults Woody for his disabilities. Now this is what I like to call ableism.
With all being said, BFDI is now a bland show, but it needs more improvement, and should be very careful with its use of satire.
