This was hands down my favorite show on television. Until Season 9. I don't know if there is a new writer or producer for the show, but season 9 just went over the top with the in your face political epithets. I pushed through to episode 8 hoping it would lighten up, but it didn't. Each episode seems to be a repeat of the obvious socialist and anarchist views being promoted. Some of the references even involved issues I agree with, but there's always such a thing as too much. I also got the feeling that not all of the cast is in support of this new direction the show has taken. A few of the characters haven't made a single political reference, at least for the first 8 episodes. It's sad. I was really looking forward to this season. Same as I did for the previous 8. This was a show that had really taken off and somehow created America's favorite family. In reality, the Gallagher Family would be a nightmare to have as neighbors. On TV, however, every episode they made it abundantly clear what their number one priority in life was. Family. And that's why every single person who watches this series has romanticized and fallen in love with this family. Every episode I've caught myself thinking of how cool it would be to live in this inner circle of friends. But instead of keeping the show clean, unbiased, and enjoyable for everyone, the production staff let their hatred and often inaccurate, uneducated, and grossly misinformed political beliefs take this wonderful masterpiece of a series in completely new direction. There was no even flow with this season. Nothing seemed to stay in sync. It was like watching a television series that suffers from ADHD. It was all over the place. I'm a little scared that the writers are possibly running out of ideas and that this will soon come to an end. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I've been wrong plenty of times in my life. If this ends up being one of those times, I won't be mad about it.
