This film was a lot better than the first, but that's not saying much. In all actuality, the first film kind of set up the rest for failure due to the vast drift from the original storyline in the novels. It seems that the second film is trying to make up for the huge differences that were undertaken in the first film and trying to get back to the plot of the novels, which is quite a difficult task because so much of the plot in the second film depends on the first. Both of the screenplays seemed extremely rushed and often focused on scenes or interactions that do not add anything to the plot. It would have been more prudent to have integrated scenes that were more integral to the plot and focused more on the emotion that Tessa & Hardin are feeling, which I feel is lacking immensely in the films and so well described in the books. I can only hope that the screenplay for the next installment is more well thought out and realistic, while also sticking more to the original plot, since the plot of the books is a hell of a lot better than whatever these idiot writers chose to stray towards in the movies.
