This movie was a disaster. Super slow to start, rushing to the finish and not making a lot of sense. A parasite takes over a whiny pop star dealing with drug recovery and personal problems who chugs VOSS water the whole movie.

No background on the characters, predictable plot and lack luster ending. Could have easily been a B grade made for TV movie instead.

I debated watching it mainly because I was worried I would be disappointed considering how big a fan I am of the original Little Mermaid but they blew it out of the water with the new live action version! I loved how they got almost every same detail from the original with a few of their own new additions to make it its own. Everything down to the same ending - but again tweaked - was absolutely perfect. I even loved Sebastian more in the new version! The only thing that I didn't care for was Scuttle's song near the end, it was a bit annoying.

At first I wasn't expecting to like it as greatly as I did however I thought it was a pretty well done movie. Nicholas Cage fit the psychotic Dracula very well and all the other actors did a good job as well. Was it cheesy? Yes but the humor made up for the fact and I found myself cackling in the movie theater the entire time.

Johnny Depp takes on another role, even though it's a more serious take it's not at the same time. He received news he has a short amount of time to live and unlike most people that get depressed over it he does the opposite and embraces what's to come. It's refreshing to me to see him a role that's outside a costume. He gives deep meaning outlooks as well to how you should look at life.

This movie relates to the Amanda Knox story, so if you don't know it look it up. As Matt Damon does, he relates to his character very well. His daughter is convicted for her girlfriends murder and he follows her to France to try to find her innocent once the government gives up on her. Some said it was slow and no action but it wasn't in my opinion. It showed in depth a relationship between a father and daughter. It is a bit open ended to some degree but there is a bit of conclusion, sad as it was.

I love how Adam keeps his friends all in the same movies. I loved the them of the movie and Adam as the underdog. I hated how they bullied him during the whole movie but I loved how it all ended.

Definitely love Ethan McGregors character in this movie as well as the rest. Wish they had a Jack Nicholson cameo to top it off but glad it went back to the original location.
