My family and I love ATAS, and now we also love the Netflix series. Some people criticize it for changes from the original series, but I I think some of those changes were necessary. The Netflix series isn’t going to get 61 episodes like the animated series so decisions had to be made on what to include and what to leave out. Also, the more mature nature of this show showed the consequences of war and had some true poignant moments. Iroh’s emotion at the death of his son and the respect Zuko’s boat crew shows him after they learn of his sacrifice for them are two of those moments. In addition the CG is perfectly added to the martial arts fights. Plus how can you go wrong when you have the cabbage seller yelling, “my cabbages!”
