Well this is a reboot so I didnt get Hope's up. Sure it has a "theft"named carmen SanDiego, it has two characters named zach and ivy, and there is a organisation called "acme"and that's where the Similarities end.
Ivy is reduced to a slap stick Boston sounding lackey for carmen instead of the awesome lead role who was tough, smart and fast on her feet. She took charge and knew what carmen was up to. Oh and she hates it when you use a word ending in "man" like fisherman. Apparently she gets triggered over such language.
Zack is now some older, red haired, boston dope that hates the smell of fish. Another lackey of Carmen's who was reduced from a lead role of the street smart younger brother of ivy.
Acme is there.... but in name sake that's it.. same with "the cheif". The chief seems based off the tv game show of the same name sake... not the 90's super computer that was wacky.
As for the henchmen, or henchwomen as ivy would correct me, In the orignal they were bad at fighting but were still taken seriously... the men and the women. In this new iteration the males are dopey and are there for comic relief......seriously a mime in a secret evil organisation? Le Chevre and el topo are just there for laughs not to be taken seriously it seems. Talking to their boss about cufflinks and putting rings on every finger after they sell the priceless coin? Tigress is a tough dangerous criminal. She plays the mean girl when every carmen is around. No real reason... she just hates carmen for some reason.
Again, it's a full reboot, so dont look for nostalgia. Im only on episode 3 so maybe it will get better.
If you are looking for a new show to watch and dont mine thick Boston accents from ivy and zack or carmen as a modern day Robin hood then your good.
