I'm biracial (black and white) and I really appreciate this show! <3
Like all shows, it has it's flaws and stereotypes, but honestly it really exceeded my expectations. I love that it has a female director, but I think there should be more Black/biracial representation behind-the-scenes. I would love to see sexism in the media disappear in general, but I would also love to see more biracial families and leads represented. That's something I truly did NOT get growing up. I want biracial kids in the future to see themselves represented as just normal people living their lives.
I'm a HUGE Taylor Swift fan. Her critic of the line is completely valid. But I can't count how many times I've called out sexism in media and been met with dismissal or even anger. If this wakes people up to realizing that sexism in the media is never okay, then great. If it's just fans defending Swift, than it's performative and I'm not here for it.
Overall, I love the show and hope it continues.
