I gave this game a 5 star because it left a lasting impression on me. I've been a long time fan of the franchise and characters and this is an evolution to sonic. Gameplay is solid, combat could be better but the platforming is great! Story and character nuance is the best its ever been really. Solid writing and voice acting delivery. The music is definitely the star here. A considerable departure from previous games but I can easily say the music combined with the moments in the game will make some lasting memories.

Don't listen to the IGN reviews. this game is COOL. Give it a shot with your friends, you might like it. They've done some really good things and their looting system is probably the most evolved out of all of them
