Why waste time broadcasting a "story" about a study on red and processed meat bowel cancer risks which adds absolutely nothing to the original study?
The original study stated (as a simple example) :-
Bowel Cancer risk (over lifetime) 6%
Eating an extra 50gm of bacon every day increases risk to 7%
So :-
For an individual clearly 1% greater risk.
But for number of Bowel Cancer patients an increase of 1 in 6 or about 16.6%. No doubt with the more precise numbers this would be about 18% which the study stated.
This latest report by "experts?" does nothing useful - simply encouraging people to worry less while ignoring the potential 18% burden on Health Services. I say Humbug!
