My only problem with American Marxism, is it fails to mention, or argue, the most critical point related to the rise of Marxism in a country; this being that Marxism does not exist in a vacuum; it is most always a response to the oppression of one group by another. Is Marxism on the rise in the US? Mark R. Levin makes a good case that it is, but again, he fails to mention that the rise of Marxism in the US is almost certainly (from a historical viewpoint) being driven on the other side by the rise in radial right wing conservatism. Simply put, citizens who are treated fairly in their own country do not have Marxist revolutions; oppressed people do, and if Marxism IS on the rise in the US, you can't write a book about it and fail to objectively answer the question...why? Therefore, his latest novel fails, for it only speaks half the story.
