Totally made for Vijay Fans. !!
This does not match the level of entertainment Mersal and Theri Provided. No role or scope for Nayanthara or Vivek or Anandaraj. Movie is completely Vijay centric to an overwhelming extent which is good as well as bad.
Comedy is lull and boring. The movie starts off like Kuruvi 2 or Villu 2 and slowly picks good pace. The main flaw is that it felt as if you are watching 2 movies side by side. It reminds me of Irudhi sutru + Chak de + Bhairava all mashed up in a non coherent fashion. Vijay's charisma and style leads the movie without lag.
Vijay is stunning in action sequences and proves again that there is none that can match him in action.
On a separate note, Vijay can let go off the " Wannabe Rajinikanth" attitude especially with the signature chewing gum style shots etc. what prompts Vijay to imitate Rajini is a question mark for millions of people .
Some akward scenes that were not necessary were
1.The scenes where he re-iterates Big Boss Kamal's dialogue
"odavum mudiyadhu oliyavum mudiyathu" and gropes sudarshan's butt in a nagging fashion were very akward . dude seriously !!
2. In another place, Kathir calls him Basha Bhai and after a few minutes Vijay says " Namma vazhka nama kaila ye illai" were unnecessary. There was no reason to re quote Basha's Dialogue in his own style.
Vijay shines brilliantly in the action stunts where he is induced with drugs. Atlee's direction and screenplay at times is on high pace and lags back and forth. The sentiment scenes did not work out like Mersal and Vijay as Rayappan was outstanding.
On a separate note, Vijay looked more fit as Rayappan than as Michael.
Note: The Movie is definitely watchable and is a treat for Fans but the overdose and several Preclimax sequences looked like an overkill.
