Maquilapolis questions the very structure of the North American economy. Not only do you sympathize with the workers in the documentary, but their existence actualizes the paradoxes that result from free trade policies and the unequal redistribution of wealth because of corporate interests. I fear that the harsh working conditions and circumstances that these women face may become a reality for many more in the near future.
