The stepmother's role has been reprised poignantly; deep love for Arthur is manifest. The ugliness of child molestation within the family is a reminder of human reality. "A loving husband can be a wife beater" and so on. A touching film, well directed. Child stars ard phenomenal.

Anyone who has read, studied or taught 'Catcher in the Rye' will be overwhelmed by this film. I was. Excellent screenplay and Direction. Fantastic capture of J.D. Salinger's character. His trauma and gradual progress as a writer are portrayed realistically by the actor. One is kind of thrown into J.D.'s life and clearly sees the reason for the worldwide success of this book. 5/5

Amazingly watchable film! Quirky. Funny. Characters well drawn. Storyline suspenseful. Nuances like the mentoring of Antoine changing the boy's attitude and personality, changes Antoine to the extent of letting go of the past, finally, make this film a learning experience. The interest builds up as Sandra shows the photos. A twist at the end: do not chase chimeras!
